Trendy Tuesday: Pleated Pleats

by farnazmannequinsf

Who is designing knife pleates you may ask?

Some of the top designers such as Kenneth Cole and Prada had knife pleated skirts strutted down the runway in their spring 2012 collections.

There are several different lengths that you may want to experiment with especially since they can range in such a wide variety of fabrics that can be appropriate for any time of the year.

This season you will find that pleates are no longer just for formal/business wear. Woman are now incorporating it in there closets in all sorts of bright colors. You can pair a knee length pleated skirt with a bold bright silk blouse to give off the notion of feminity, and to pull the look together pairit with a simple pumps or a pair of comfortable flats depending on how you dress up the top portion of you wardrobe. You can find knee length pleated skirts at BCBG , H&M and to tell you the truth they can be found almost every where this season. If you do not want to go hunting for them you will hundred percent find pleated skirts at the two shops we have named. As of Long pleated skirts, they come in all sorts of fabrics from sheer to thick . This type of skirt can dress up any type of look . You will see heads turning when you walk down the street because the pleates create a beautiful wide curve every time you take a step forward. Our favorite new type of long pleated skirt has a beautiful short cut in the front and is kept long in the back.

This item is a classic and will always be instyle because its a simple timeless piece that brings elegance to any outfit.

Demand Of The Week: Craving for Draping

by farnazmannequinsf

I dont know about you guys but I can never stop myself from buying a scarf when I see its worthy. I just can’t get over the beautiful fabrics and unique patterns they can range from. Scarves have been worn for centuries, every where from the hair down to the neck and even on wrists.Recently I went through my drawer of scarves that I have accumulated through number of years from thrifting and traveling and found a magnificent range of scarves in bright colors and patterns that reminded me of art that you may see in a gallery. I found several that I had forgotten that even existed, so I made a deal with myself that I was going to uttalize at least three or four scarves a month and play around and mix them into my daily look.  The Month of february I really took it to the next level with accessorizing with scarves, I started adding them to the handle of my purses, my school bag, and even to my laptop bag. Just adding a simple piece of fabric to my purse made my daily outfits feel alot more complete.

I love to wear my scarves on my neck as well. there are several styles that you may incorparrate.

If you ever wake up and dont feel like dressing up or being fashion forward just a simple scarf around your neck will boost your look times four.

And lets not forget that males can wear scarves as well! After having discussions with my male associates , many of them felt that wearing a scarf may make them look metro or plainly to feminne. This is a common mistake that many males endure :)

Its easy ! Trust me , scarves can keep you warm and even add a touch of masculinity if you wear it the right way

  1. The Flip Over:Easily flip one side of a long scarf over your shoulder, and leave the other side of it hanging down over your shirt.
  2. The Parisian Knot: Fold the scarf in half first, drape it around your neck, and then loop the loose ends in between where the scarf folds in two.
  3. The Double Flip:Instead of just one side hanging in the front, do a double loop and let the other side hang there too.
  4. The Knot: Simply make a loose knot in the scarf on the front side, keeping one end slightly longer than the other.
  5. The Keffiyeh Knot: Tie a loose knot in the back and keep the bulk of the scarf hanging in the front. This works best with scarves made of a twill, easily foldable material.
  6. The Simple Drape:Make sure the scarf material is neat (free of obvious wrinkles), and just drape it with both long ends hanging loosely in the front.
